The story
Mila & James
A Garden Wedding in Charleston
A forecast full of rain gave way to a ceremony beneath the trees, a room full of happy tears, and a dance floor that never seemed to empty.
Behind the film
The moments that made it theirs
Mila and James had planned every detail of their garden ceremony, right down to the walk beneath the live oaks. Then the forecast turned. By noon the sky over Charleston was heavy and grey, and the whole family was watching the radar.
The rain came and went in waves. In between, the light did something we could never have planned: soft, silver, and kind. Their vows were spoken a little faster than rehearsed, and everyone laughed when James had to start his twice.
By the time the band started, nobody remembered the weather. We built the film around those small, honest moments: Mila’s father fixing her veil, the toast from her oldest friend, and a dance floor that stayed full until the last song.
